The Streets of Norwich

Writer's picture: lbeckwith122lbeckwith122

H e l l o ! I am greeting you with a smile as I write this post. I am really looking forward to sharing this one, because it is something I have wanted to do for a while and I have finally got around to it. I spent the day walking and exploring the streets of Norwich, capturing interesting/beautiful looking buildings as I went. These were all photographed from around the St Andrews area, and I hope to bring you a part 2 which contains more of the streets around the centre.

Some have been edited, but others I felt spoke for themselves and did not need anything adding; the beauty of the building was enough. The ones I chose to edit, have been edited in a certain style, to give them more of a creative feel. I am slowly getting the hang of Lightroom app which really gives you free rein to add your own touch and you have all the creative freedom you need to showcase your work. :)

Enjoy!

Norwich Cathedral

I have been here a few times but only once inside, it is a beautiful building and has some wonderful features both on the outside and the inside.

I do have a rather odd but funny memory from that day! I was there with my sister and her friend, and whilst exploring down one of the pathways, suddenly towards us came a group of people dressed in black and behind them was a casket.... We did not realise but they were actually holding a funeral and we had just strolled in front of the parade! Our only reaction was to quickly turn the other way and speed walk until we were around the corner lol. What a day that was.

I would definitely recommended a visit, and to my knowledge they are actually holding a dinosaur exhibit there currently. They do host a lot of different events like that if you are interested in those types of activities.

St Andrews Church

Just your average pretty looking church:) Unfortunately, I could not capture what I wanted here because of where it was situated, most of the building was in the dark due to where the sun was positioned in the sky. However, I am a keen church explorer and I have been to most in my local area, so I thought I would still capture what I could to show you all. The black and white being a funky little addition from me, I really love how it looks and the contrast between that and the greenery.

Buildings/places that caught my eye

This is actually my hair dressers and since going there I have always thought it was such a cool and funky building. It was actually what introduced me to the area so I knew when I was wandering around, I must snap a picture of it! I just love the brick design but also the unique painting they have done as well.

Just some cute little streets that I just loved the look of. There are plenty of places like this, you just have to wander to find them. There is also a lot of graffiti places in Norwich, but this was the only one around in St Andrews which was a shame because I really wanted to get some more funky shots but I may leave that to part 2.

I thought this building was lovely and it has so many different aspects to it which I why I shot from a number of different angles. It is actually the Norwich University of the Arts, a place I had heard of but had no idea that it was located down by St Andrews!

St George' Tombland

This is a place hidden from sight and I thought its beauty deserved to be captured. I love the perspective of this image as to me it feels like a secret garden, occupied with so many nice flowers and greenery. It would be the perfect place to just sit and enjoy nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also did get some sneaky portrait pictures for the gram so head over to my account to see those :)

There we are! The streets of Norwich from my perspective. Of course there are many other fab buildings and things to take pictures of but I chose the places that appealed/stood out to me. Photography is unique to individuals and I hope I can continue to share mine with you all.

I am also on the hunt for a new camera, a step up from the #canon1300d ! If you have any recommendations, please use my contact page or dm me on Instagram :)

I hope you are all well and enjoyed my post! Stay safe, Lucy xoxoxo
