Hey, guys! I hope you are well and have had a good week. I have unfortunately been poorly, I got shingles of all things. After a rough week, I am now recovering.... thank god. It was not the best time. Today I am bringing you another fashion post! I have not done one in a while and I miss doing them. Due to moving, I have put my fashion buying on hold as I need to save money for a lot of different things. However, I really miss styling my outfits and picking up new bits but I know eventually when everything is sorted, I can start up my fashion passion again!
What made we want to do one today, is I picked up a bargain in Primark! It was in the reduction section and I was not even looking for any clothes but I saw it and I loved it instantly. It was only 5 euros and I felt it was worth it as I knew I would definitely wear it all the time.
As always, I recommend sourcing your clothes and accessories from places like Depop, second hand sites and Instagram shops, to find similar items to the ones I show. It is a much more sustainable way to shop and is overall better for the environment. Unfortunately, I cannot link these sites as often they are a one piece, and once one person purchases the item, it is gone. Therefore I show popular brands because of this.
I am going to do two looks as usual to show you how I would wear the shirt. I feel two looks is enough to give two different kinds of styling:) I will do a complete collage at the end so you cannot just envisage the outfit together, but see them in their glory.
I hope you all enjoy and as always, get some fashion inspo!! :)

A simple but stylish shirt. I love the brown lines on it as I am really loving wearing brown pieces right now. On the day I purchased I was actually wearing a brown top and it matched so well with it. It actually made we want to buy it more and later in the day when I was too hot in my coat, I wore it and it was the perfect light jacket. It does not look like anything special but for me it is a must have, and a basic layering piece.
I like to be both chic and funky with my outfits; today's are more on the chic side. Links will be on each individual image, if you click directly on the image, you should be taken straight to the webpage for the clothing item:)
Now onto the styling the look and bringing it all together:) E n j o y :)
Jackets/Coats:
I like how both coats are brown, but different shades. Just adds a little something to both of the looks.
1. I thought pairing a brown jacket was fitting to match the brown vibe. I love this one, I do not really own any long line jackets but I have seen them floating about this winter. The lighter buttons match the white in the shirt and it is the perfect overlay with the shirt poking out underneath; that way you are breaking up the look and not having the brown top against the brown jacket, avoiding it looking too harsh. It is just too cold for the shirt alone!
2. This has such a cool pattern and also goes well with the shirt. I can see it over the top of the shirt, but this time with the shirt buttoned up, tucked into a cute skirt. The jacket is cropped so it will sit perfectly above the skirt. I am not really a fan of wearing long coats with a skirt, I feel they cover the outfit and therefore ruin the point of it. It is also nice and thick for the weather but stylish at the same time. Definitely funky and a little different to your usual plain coat.
Tops:
I love a good turtleneck for the winter! Such a good layering piece to keep you nice and toasty.
1. This brown turtle neck matches the brown in the shirt but also the brown coat. It is a similar shade and is a little cropped so will sit just above the waistline of the jeans. It gives me a chic but also cosy vibe. It is plain still gives something to the look, a sort of sophisticated touch.
2. Similar to the other but white to go underneath the shirt. I can see me tucking the white shirt into my skirt, but leaving the top few buttons undone. This way you can see the turtle neck poking out and it adds a little spice instead of just having the shirt done all the way up. It is also good for layering when it is really cold as you will have this, the shirt and the coat. You also have the option of removing the coat and you may be able to get away with leaving it off, the shirt and turtleneck being enough warmth. Being warm is the priority as well as looking good! You do not wanna be freezing just to wear something for the sake of it. (Edit: This top from H&M has gone out of stock, but due to it being such a simple piece, you can find one most other places!)
Trousers:
1. I love these jeans. Love them. I spoke about the blue version in my last fashion post and how I may purchase another colour as they are perfect for me. Well, news. I did, in the colour Ecru. I do not regret it, they are so comfy and I wear them all the time. That is why I thought they would be the right piece for this look. The cream contrasts the brown but also goes well with the shirt. They have an elasticated waist so if like me you struggle to wear jeans, these are the ones for you.
The brown top will easily tuck into them and they just give off that classic trendy look. They fit like a glove too. I mentioned in my other post that I had not worn them with boots yet but now I have. I tucked them in and I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Mother liked them and I always rely on her opinion but I am yet to decide!
2. I spent ages trying to find the right skirt, I had a certain vision in mind and I knew it would take me a lot of scrolling. I finally came across this one and it fits with the outfit so well. I love the unique button detail, it just makes it a little different to just your usual denim skirt. I have a plain black one myself but for this look I wanted a piece with something extra and this skirt fits the bill. It is quite loose so goes with the whole vibe of the look, with it being both casual and a little smart. It is a little on the pricier side but due to it being on sale, I had to include it.
It also helps to break up the colours in the look to bring the attention more to the top half of the outfit.
Other fashion post I have been referring to: Styling Queen.
Shoes:
1. Converse are the type of shoe I used to love, then I went through a stage of disliking the fit and the style of them, to now really liking the boot version of them. I think they really add to an outfit and can really tie everything together. I love the chunky sole of these as not only do they look nice, they would make me appear taller... I am on the shorter side. Again the colours tie in nicely with the other aspects of the look. They are for sure a current fav and if I could, I would get a pair as they are so versatile. I would have my jeans rolled all the way down as I prefer that style so they would hang just over the top of the shoe. I do not mind this as having them poke out the bottom draws eyes more; people are thinking what shoes if she wearing? A good fashion choice I think.
2. Booties! A staple for this time of year. I wanted brown so I was not steering away from the main theme of the outfit. Dark brown especially as I wanted to avoid mixing in another shade. At first I was not a huge fan of the stripes on the front but after researching more boots, I kept coming back to them and I actually decided they look kinda cool and funky. Sometimes you have to go outside of your comfort zone and not just go with what you think everyone else wears and will like. These are lush and go amazingly with the look: the last piece of the puzzle one would say! Chocolate brown is one of my fav colours at the moment in terms of clothing, I have a few pieces but not enough! Sad face:(
Jewellery- Necklaces, Earrings and Rings:
I love this combination. I am all for colours in jewellery clashing, especially because this look is all brown and cream, it needs a little colour to make it pop. I love orange and brown together and I think adding funky jewellery makes the outfit stand out more and for me, it becomes the main focal point. I love that as you have the contrast between the neutral colours with the orange. The rings are so cute and the combo of one of them flower ones with the orange, blue and pink resin ones, is what I need in my life. It is such a different way to go and I am all for it. The little earrings also tie in so well and the glitter is a sweet touch. Love, love, love!! The outfit just needs that extra something to really pull everything together and complete it.
Such cute and dainty pieces. I feel for the second look there is enough going all already, that throwing any colourful jewellery may ruin the look. I like the simplicity of both these pieces and the necklace will sit just above the buttons of the shirt and that will help the area to not look empty! The shape of the earrings are fun too and when I saw them I thought they would be a good choice. The silver is not a random touch either, as you have the silver buttons on the skirt. Small details but I like to point them out.
Bags:
I rarely carry handbags out with me anymore, I have a couple that I will sometimes opt for but unless I am going out for a meal or something, I will usually just use a tote bag. They are so simple and easy, the main reason I went for the options below.
1. This bag is sooo lush. I love the corduroy material as you do not usually see that with tote bags. You have the option of having two prints, something I think is a cool aspect as you can then choose between them depending on your outfit and mood. I would have the plain orange side for this look, once again incorporating the orange colour. That way you do not have the jewellery alone being a different colour to the outfit, you have the bag to provide more of an aesthetic. It is different and I love that idea. It also adds a little more personality to the outfit.
2. This bag follows along the same lines but this time it is more of a plain colour so it does not clash with the coat and the other parts of the look. A white bag provides a plainer style but it still gives off that put together vibe. The size is bigger than the standard bag but I like this, due to the fact I am one of them people that carries a lot around when I am out. Mostly due to my health and if I can I like to avoid having any extra weight its a bonus; the bag can carry anything you buy so you are not lugging around another couple of bags. A win win!
Supporting small businesses is so important as well, and when they produce quality items like this, then why wouldn't you shop with them?

Look 2:
Wooo! There we have it. Two outfits with a cream and brown striped shirt as the main piece. I love these looks, I included things I love and also things I may not have thought about before. Do not get me wrong, I love a colourful funky outfit with all the patterns but today with this shirt I went more down the route of plain and classy, as I thought that was the type of clothes that paired well with the shirt. I love both outfits but I think I would have to steer more towards the first. The orange really draws me too it and I love the cream and brown combo. I do really like the skirt in the second one too, its a tough call! Let me know what you think, here or on my Instagram: lucyniamhh_
As always, I hope you enjoyed. Stay safe and well, Lucy xoxoxo
